Please report any losses however minor and whatever their nature as soon as possible. Most insurance policies include the condition that all losses must be reported without delay and failure to do so may result in your insurer repudiating your claim at a later date.

To help us to process your claim quickly and smoothly please have the following information to hand when you contact us:

For all motor claims

  • Policy number
  • Vehicle registration numbers
  • Where and when incident took place
  • Third party details of anyone else involved
  • Crime reference number if applicable
  • Consider if you are happy to use one of your insurers authorised repairers as you may be entitled to a courtesy car
  • If you have Accidentcare cover report the incident to Accidentcare within 48 hours on 0845 1221 800

For property claims

  • Policy number
  • Details of the losses
  • Crime reference number if applicable
  • Full description of items stolen and/or damaged including as much detail as possible i.e. make/model numbers, photographs etc

Overseas and UK transit losses

  • Write, where appropriate, to the shippers/freight forwarders to hold them responsible for the loss and retain a copy for submission to insurers with other supporting documentation.
  • Obtain all possible supporting documentation, i.e. bills of lading, purchase receipts, invoices, delivery notes etc.
