Hot air ballooning is a hobby which is flying high in popularity. J Bennett & Son has been specialising in balloon insurance for almost 25 years and our commercial director Peter Dowlen is a keen enthusiast.

Balloons never fail to catch the eye of those on the ground, which was in fact how we got into this fascinating niche area of insurance in the first place.  Our decision, encouraged by Peter, to acquire our first JBS liveried balloon for aerial advertising in July 1987 proved very successful.

Enquiries began to flow in from balloonists requiring insurance and by attending ballooning events up and down the country, including the famous Bristol Fiesta, the largest event of its kind in Europe, business just went up and up. We place our balloon business on a special scheme within the Lloyd’s market. This ensures our clients get great rates and service as well as enjoying excellent security.
