Director Profiles

Simon Bennett ACII

Simon is the third generation to become Managing Director of the company, following in the footsteps of his father John, and grandfather Jake Bennett who founded the company in 1908. Before joining the family business in 1974, Simon trained as a broker for two years at Lloyds of London and is qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).

Simon specialises in commercial insurance and has developed several schemes for the Leisure Industry.

Peter Dowlen ACII

Peter worked for a multi-national brokerage in the City for 10 years before joining J. Bennett & Son as a Director in 1984.

Peter is ACII qualified and has a sizeable portfolio of commercial clients. In addition, his passion for flying hot air balloons has led to the development of our Hot Air Balloon Scheme that insures over 300 balloons throughout the UK and Ireland.

Robert Newton ACII

Robert has 30 years experience in insurance broking and initially joined the company in 1972. A qualified Chartered Insurance Broker, Robert has specialist knowledge of Financial Risks and Commercial Insurance.

Robert is responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of the business from accounts and HR to ensuring that we have the most up to date technology.
